Up for your consideration is
a Very Unusual Vintage Chinese Chairman Mao Era People's Republic Embroidered and Painted Silk Wall Hanging Featuring People wearing Mao suits and a couple of Army Vehicles all set in a lovely landscape.
I purchase this at the estate sale of a Chinese couple who may have either brought this picture back from China or purchased it in New York many years ago.
I am guessing it must represent the Mao era because of the clothing worn by the figures and the Army vehicles present in the picture.
I cannot tell the process used to create this wall hanging. It may be paint or printed on color with embroidery on top in black thread.
It is not framed and very wrinkled-needs ironing or steaming.
Approximate measurements:
The approximate measurement of the wall hanging is 18” x 41”.
Condition:
The condition of the wall hanging is excellent vintage pre-owned condition.
*It is very wrinkled and needs to be ironed or steamed or whatever is safe for this type of artwork.
*There are some tiny foxing marks on the edges of the fabric-see photos at the end.
*It is NOT framed.
*It will be shipped folded.
