Zhao Zi Ping Signed w/Chop Stamp Original Chinese Paper Cut CATS
“Zhao Ziping works as a professional paper cutting artist at the Shanghai Arts & Crafts Research Institute, where he began his study of the art form in 1962. As a student of Wang Zigan, a distinguished artist who was known for his wonderful craftsmanship in Shanghai-style paper cutting, Mr. Zhao has developed a simple, fluid and imaginative style with his distinctive touch. In 1984, he had a successful solo exhibition at UN Headquarters in New York and in 2005, he was honored as a "Master of Arts & Crafts" by the Shanghai Municipal Government. “
Paper cut is of 2 cats with balls of yarn with fluttering butterflies above.
Paper cut is Artist signed, complete with chop stamp. There’s also some other Japanese writings that I’m not able to decipher.
There is a real photograph of the Artist Zhao Zi Ping adhered to the backside.
Paper Cut Image Area Measurement: 4 1/2” x 3”. Framed Measurement: 6 3/8” x 8 3/8” x 7/8” deep.
Paper cut is in excellent condition. Wood frame has a couple tiny nicks on wood.
