    Description

Fresh to market from an estate. This is a rare
    Wallis Gimson & Co.
brown transferware coffee or tea pot in the Alexandria pattern.  It features a wonderful example of Victorian era Aesthetic Movement design with the bird scene on one side and the geometric and scroll designs throughout.  The British Registry stamp 39268 dates the piece to ca. 1885.
It measures 8" tall to the top of the lid and 8-1/2" from handle to spout and 4" wide.
Very good antique condition considering the age.  A couple hairlines and discoloration here and there, common for this type of ware.  Everything is holding firmly.  There is a chip on the handle of the lid.  There is another chip on the bottom corner at the base.  Still displays beautifully as the antique that it is.  Expect some light wear that is expected with antique earthenware.
Please take a look at the photos as they describe the pot best.
Most of the items we sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in,
    as is, as found condition
. They are described to the best of our knowledge. Some wear is to be expected, unless described as flawless or mint. We can't know everything about every item we offer, so please take a good look at the photos and ask questions if need be.
