    Description

    This is an exquisite piece with stunning intricate ink and colors on silk--a beautiful reproduction of the Ming Dynasty original by Ting Yun-p'eng that we have owned since 1995. Painting is signed and has several Chinese markings, please see the photos. We believe the gold foil "Made in Taiwan Republic of China" stickers indicate the painting was produced prior to 1949. We believe our painting is over 75 years old with the minor stains over the decades age appropriate.
    The  original
    "Returning With The Buddhist Scriptures"
    was painted by Ting Yun-p'eng (1580-ca.1621) in the late Ming Dynasty. The label on the back of the painting provides the extraordinary details of the Emperor sending for the return of Buddhist Scriptures in the year 65 a.d. .  Frame measurements:  23 3/4" long by 16" wide by 3/4" deep.
    Features:
    Exquisite ink detail and vibrant colors;
    The wood frame is impressive with bronze tone etched hardware;
    Decorative gold tone ornate mounting hardware;
    Beautifully finished brocade cloth backing on backside of the frame.
    The attention to detail is simply amazing. The Repository of Originals is the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The painting represents the rich culture and heritage of Chinese art.
