An original poster, dated in December, 1961, size 20 x 29 ½ in., the qualified lithographic color printing, issued by the People's Fine Art Agency of China, initial price visible.
The poster printed after the original painting by Liu Wenxi (1933-), who is a listed artist especially of Mao's avatar ( his work of Mao's head was printed on the fifth version of Hundred Banknote Yuan of Chinese currency in 1999). The painting was a gift to the Xian Art College, painted for a celebrating of the Chinese Children Festival as June 1st, it finished when the artist worked periodic for the Art College during the time in Xian, the city of Henan province in 1959.
The poster titled We Are Beside Of Chairman Mao. In Chinese characters on the background flags says Number One Of The Production Brigade, and the People's Commune Of Eastern Sun Red. The story based on the Great Leap Forward, an economic and social campaign led by the Chinese Communist Party from 1958 to 1962. Chairman Mao Zedong launched the campaign to reconstruct the country from an agrarian economy into a communist society through the formation of people's communes. During August 1958, Mao visited some rural areas in Hebei, Henan and Shandong provinces. In the painting of this poster that the artist reproduced the scene of Mao visiting the countryside of Henan.
