    The poster shows representatives of the Chinese people and the PLA soldiers holding Mao’s little red book and guns looking afar with strong resolve on their face. Many times the themes of these propaganda posters would be produced in different versions; I have another version of the same theme that is listed.
    This is an original Cultural Revolution poster with a soldier holding Mao’s little red book. These propaganda posters were never meant to last decades and considering the age it is in remarkably good condition. The store in Beijing that sold this poster always protected each poster with a plastic sleeve and it has been rolled up in a tube since I purchased it in the early 1990’s. There are no tears or pinholes but there is some yellowing from age. The size of the poster is 30” x 21.5”.
    I started traveling to China in 1982 and after many trips found a shop in Beijing that sold original Mao memorabilia.
