Always to find one of these that shows actual war time use as indicated by the shrapnel ding on top, and the paint wear from the soldier repeatedly setting the helmet down on its crown.
Excellent overall and no issues. Partial size adjustment label in crown. Nice red Brodie's patent stamp under lining. Chinstrap complete though with some surface flaking on one side.
About 400,000 of these were issued in 1917 to American troops before the US geared up on produce of its M1917 helmet.
