    Description

    Rare and wonderful circa 1890-1910 bisque smoking stand with a gentleman fox smoking a pipe and reading a book. The mark on the bottom is that of Carl Schneider's with a C that has vertical lines running through it. The basket holds cigars or cigarettes, the hat would hold fresh matches and the stack of books would be for discarded matchsticks. The lined striker area on the back was not molded very well, but you can see where it would be.
    There are no chips or cracks. The white tips on the ears is rubbing wear from handling, but they are intact. Inside the holders, there is soiling from years of dust settling and there is some soiling on the outside, mostly on the base. See photos.
